WHO Declares Monkeypox ‘Global Health Emergency’

0

The head of the World Health Organization has declared the Monkeypox outbreak to be a global health emergency – the highest alarm it can sound. “I have decided that the global Monkeypox outbreak represents a public health emergency of international concern,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. The UN health agency’s declaration could spur further investment in treating the once-rare disease – and also worsen the scramble for scarce vaccines.
