On July 30, at the Ingalls Shipbuilding shipyard in Pascagoula, Florida, a ceremony was held to commission the new amphibious helicopter dock ship USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28), She is the 12th San Antonio-class ship built at the Ingalls shipyard, into the U.S. Navy.     Ship sponsor Meredith A.
