After the military coup that took place in Niger last week, the situation in and around the country continues to deteriorate.

Particular concern will be the possible interference of France in the affairs of its former colony.

According to a representative of the French Foreign Ministry, the evacuation of French citizens from the territory of Niger has begun today.
