Moussa Salau Barmu, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Niger, ordered the country’s army to be put on full alert.
Barmu explained his decision by the growing threat of military aggression against Niger, as well as the desire to avoid a surprise attack and provide an adequate response in the event of foreign intervention.
