President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance called Ukraine’s Zelensky disrespectful during their White House meeting Friday over bringing an end to the Russia-Ukraine war.
Trump told Zelensky he was being disrespectful in his push for U.S. security commitments to keep his country safe from further Russian aggression. Zelensky left the White House early after a tense exchange with US President Donald Trump on live television, according to a Ukrainian news outlet called Obshchestvennoye. Novosti. The UNIAN news agency reported that Zelensky and Trump canceled the joint news conference that was to have followed the talks.
“You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people,” Trump said. “You’re gambling with World War III, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have.”
“Your people are very brave, but, you’re either going to make a deal, or we’re out. And if we’re out, you’ll fight it out,” Trump added.
