Shooting near the White House leaves two National Guard members critically injured
Two members of the West Virginia National Guard were left in critical condition after what Washington’s mayor described as a “targeted shooting,” The New York Times reported.
The shooting took place around 2:15 PM local time at the entrance to Farragut West Metro Station, just blocks from the White House.
According to the NYT, Guard personnel have been stationed there daily for months, routinely moving up and down the escalators as part of their security presence.
