• Iran’s top security official Ali Larijani contacted officials in regional countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE, last week and warned that Tehran would target US embassies in those countries if the United States attacks Iran, an Iranian government source told Iran International.
• US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he had directly communicated a deadline to Iran for reaching a deal with the United States.
• Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday Tehran would not negotiate with the United States under threats or preconditions and warned that Iran was ready to respond forcefully if attacked.
• Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said he held talks with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff as Ankara pushed for dialogue to prevent a new conflict involving Iran.
• On Friday, President Tayyip Erdogan told Iran’s president that Turkey was ready to act as a facilitator between Iran and the US to help ease tensions, the Turkish presidency said.
• A US military destroyer docked at Israel’s port of Eilat as tensions between Washington and Iran rose, Israeli reported on Friday.
• US President Donald Trump was presented expanded military options against Iran, including commando raids on nuclear sites, strikes on leadership to enable regime change, and renewed attacks on their ballistic missile forces, NYT reported.
