• US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said the US campaign against Iran is limited and decisive, not an endless war, and aimed at destroying missile and nuclear threats.
• Iranian state media says Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has died after being in a coma caused by injuries from recent US-Israeli airstrikes.
• “I got him before he got me. They tried twice. Well I got him first,” President Donald Trump said regarding the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, apparently referring to a 2024 Iran-linked plot to assassinate him.
• President Donald Trump said on Sunday the US military operations in Iran will continue for up to five weeks and will not stop until Washington’s objectives are achieved.
• A leadership council made up of the president, the judiciary chief and Alireza Arafi, a jurist from the Guardian Council, will temporarily assume the duties of the supreme leader, state media reported.
