• Some members of Iran’s Assembly of Experts have protested plans to announce Mojtaba Khamenei as the next supreme leader, arguing it could amount to “hereditary leadership,” Iran International has learned.

• Israel’s military said it had completed a large-scale operation against a major military compound in Iran that it said housed headquarters of several branches of the country’s security apparatus.
• Iran will target US and British vessels and any ships carrying cargo for Israel in the Persian Gulf, regardless of their flag, Iranian state media reported, citing an unnamed commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards navy.
