[US-Israel, Iran War Day #50] Traffic Resumes in Hormuz, Ceasefire Could End If no Deal Reached

• US President Donald Trump convened a White House Situation Room meeting on Saturday morning to discuss the renewed crisis around the Strait of Hormuz and negotiations with Tehran, Axios reported citing two US officials.
• India summoned Iran’s ambassador over attacks on two of its vessels near the Strait of Hormuz. A cruise ship also reported an incident in the vital waterway, according to the UKMTO.
• Some merchant vessels received radio messages saying the Strait of Hormuz was shut again and that no ships were allowed to pass, Reuters reported on Saturday.
• Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei denied reports that Tehran had agreed to transfer its highly enriched uranium abroad, saying “enriched uranium is sacred to us, as is Iranian soil.”
• US President Trump told Axios he expects Iran and the United States to “get a deal in the next day or two,” one that will “make Israel safe.” He told CBS Iran has agreed to everything, including the removal of its uranium stocks and ending its support for proxy groups.
• Iran on Friday announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, but President Donald Trump said the US naval blockade targeting Iran will remain fully in place until a final deal between the two sides is completed.
