• Xi pledges to provide ‘whatever help’ Trump needs on Iran
• US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping agreed on Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open for the free flow of energy, the White House said after their meeting.
• Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Azizi said a parliamentary committee had finalized a plan for managing the Strait of Hormuz and sent it for review, saying Tehran wanted to use the waterway as a source of leverage.
• The UAE and Israel coordinated a May 6 attack on Iran’s biggest petrochemical facility in Asaluyeh in response to Tehran’s strike on the UAE’s Borouge plant, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday. Reuters also reported unpublicied Saudi retaliatory airstrikes on Iran in late March.
• NetBlocks said Iran’s nationwide internet blackout entered its 75th day on Wednesday, warning that restrictions were fueling surveillance concerns, corruption and online scams.
