• Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said on Wednesday that the country has closed the Strait of Hormuz to all oil tankers and commercial ships. However, US Central Command later said the strait is open and commercial ships are continuing to transit in and out of the Strait.
• The US military launched fresh airstrikes on southern Iran on Wednesday. President Trump conveyed a message to Iran via Qatar saying the strikes were a response to the Apache helicopter incident and were not intended to signal a wider conflict.
