In Brief…

  • US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Iran had told Washington it would not seek tolls, insurance costs or other charges from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Wednesday that the memorandum of understanding with Washington turned into “a declaration of US defeat.”
  • US President Donald Trump said he would “cancel the meetings right now” if Iran’s denial of scheduled IAEA inspections were true, insisting Tehran had agreed to “100% inspections” under what he called an “amazing deal.”
  • Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran’s missile program was not included in its memorandum with the United States and would never be open to negotiation. His remarks came after reports quoting Pakistan’s PM saying the missile program will be on the agenda of talks.
  • US President Donald Trump said Iran had agreed to long-term, high-level nuclear inspections, adding that he would not allow further negotiations without such an agreement.

This is a developing story that HO1 will continue to monitor.
