• US forces struck coastal defense systems and cruise missile sites on Greater Tunb Island in a 90-minute operation on Wednesday, CENTCOM said.
• US forces launched a new wave of strikes on Iran at 6 a.m. ET on Wednesday, targeting military capabilities used in attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, US Central Command said.
• Iran’s army said on Wednesday it would respond after a US strike on one of its barracks in southeastern Iran that it said killed seven military personnel.
• US Central Command said American forces resumed a naval blockade against vessels transiting to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, adding that more than 20 US Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft are operating across the Middle East.
• India and New Zealand summoned senior Iranian diplomats on Tuesday over the escalation and attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, urging de-escalation and a return to diplomacy.
• US military personnel and contractors in the Middle East were targeted in a coordinated phone-tracking campaign before and during the Iran war, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing telecom data, cybersecurity experts and officials familiar with the matter.
