• US President Donald Trump said Monday the United States would maintain its naval blockade of Iran until “a deal or total surrender is accomplished.”
• Iran is not currently holding talks with the United States and is instead negotiating with Oman over a temporary safe route through the Strait of Hormuz, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said on Monday.
• Iran executed two men early on Monday after accusing them of passing the coordinates of military sites to Mossad during recent wars, the judiciary-affiliated Mizan News reported.
• Oil prices fell more than 6% after US President Donald Trump called off planned attacks on Iran’s infrastructure, suggesting an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz may be close.
• US President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran would resume on Monday afternoon, expressing confidence that agreements had already been reached on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and that a deal on Iran’s nuclear program would follow.
• The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said it had received a report of an incident about 20 nautical miles northeast of Khasab, Oman.
