• The US has made progress in discussions with Iran and Oman on allowing more ships through the Strait of Hormuz but has not reached a final agreement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Tuesday. “We’re hoping that will happen very shortly.”
• US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the US could reach a deal with Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz as soon as Wednesday and expected energy prices to fall.
• Iran wants control over inbound shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and oversight of outbound traffic under a plan discussed with Oman, a senior Iranian source told Reuters.
