  • Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said no country has the right to dictate what Iran “should or should not have,” defending uranium enrichment as a sovereign right, while also signaling flexibility in talks by saying Tehran opposes transferring uranium abroad but is prepared to reduce the level of enrichment.
  • Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said indirect talks with the United States, held via regional intermediaries, were “a step forward,” adding that Tehran favors dialogue based on its rights under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and rejects what he called the language of force.
  • CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper, US envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, who are leading negotiations with Iran, boarded the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier on Feb. 7 in an apparent signal of military resolve to Iran.
  • Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran opposes transferring uranium abroad but is ready to reduce the level of enrichment.
  • Trump said the US is in no “rush” for a deal and has plenty of time, adding however that Tehran knows the consequences will be “very steep” if they fail to reach a deal with Washington.
