In Brief…

  • Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remained sharply constrained, with just seven commodity vessels transiting on Monday, down from eight the previous day, Reuters reported, citing Kpler data.
  • The US State Department told Al Jazeera that Washington would take “decisive measures” against Iran’s attempts to disrupt navigation and was coordinating with regional partners to prevent restrictions in Hormuz from becoming an accepted state of affairs.
  • Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said in a post on X that Tehran had “fundamentally recalibrated” its posture toward US warships and bases and warned that economic warfare would be met with a maritime exclusion zone in the Persian Gulf.
  • US Central Command said in a post on X that it had redirected 94 commercial vessels, disabled three and boarded two while enforcing Washington’s blockade against Iran, with the USS George H.W. Bush supporting the operation.

This is a developing story that HO1 will continue to monitor.
