President Biden’s Remarks for Conference to Support the Lebanese People

On this day of mourning, President Biden sent his deepest condolences to all those who were injured, lost loved ones, and still struggle to recover from the trauma of catastrophic explosion at the Port of Beirut on Aug. 4, 2020. As part of the Conference to Support the Lebanese People, President Biden announced nearly $100 million in new humanitarian assistance. That is on top of almost $560 million in humanitarian aid that the United States has provided in Lebanon over the last two years.
