Turkish defense industry giants have conducted a successful test firing of the indigenous Siper missile, Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) head İsmail Demir announced on Saturday. “We have successfully completed another step in the development efforts for Siper, our long-range and multi-layered national air defense system,” Demir said in a tweet. Testing for increasing ranges and altitudes continues, Demir told reporters. The defense contractors involved in the project, ASELSAN and ROKETSAN, as well as the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), will continue to launch various other weapons systems with various ranges, he added.
