Istanbul police on Wednesday detained over 100 people during a commemoration ceremony in the megacity for the victims of a 2015 Islamic State (ISIS) suicide attack in southeastern Turkey, that claimed the lives of 33 people, Gerçek Gündem outlet reported, citing the İstanbul Governor’s Office. A total of 106 people participating in the commemoration of the Suruç massacre in Istanbul’s Kadıköy district were taken into police custody as security forces encircled the group to prevent them from staging a march, it said.
