The Sahel region, stretching across Africa from Senegal to Djibouti, has become a hotbed of terror groups in the past decade. The conflict-ridden Sahel belt connects Africa’s Atlantic coasts eastward through Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, and Sudan.
