On September 16, 2021, Prime Minister Scott Morrison, President Joe Biden, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced an enhanced trilateral security partnership between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States called AUKUS. AUKUS is building on the three nations’ long-standing and ongoing bilateral ties and will enable the partners to significantly deepen cooperation on a range of emerging security and defense capabilities.
