Economic Chaos of a Taiwan War Would Go Well Past Semiconductors. A Chinese invasion is more likely than most assume, and would come sooner rather than later. If China invades Taiwan it would wreck the United States’ economy and military development due to the nation’s reliance on the island for its advanced semiconductors, according to a new report.
