Military coups in African countries have recently become commonplace and the last of them took place in Gabon at the end of August, when President Ali Bongo was overthrown.
The now ousted president has been allowed to move freely, including travel abroad. It is reported that the leader of the new authorities, General Brice Oligui Nguema, said this last night.
