The World woke up to a surprise on 7 October, when Hamas terrorists attacked deep into Israeli territory with rocket fire and infiltrated the Gaza border, entering Israeli settlements, killing and capturing many.

Coincidentally, the October issue had already included coverage of the 50th anniversary of the 6 October 1973 war, a surprise that Egypt and Syria delivered to Israel, which failed to predict it.
