Israeli military reportedly returns to fighting in Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) returned to fighting against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Explosions and shootings can be heard west of Gaza City. The Israeli military has also reportedly opened heavy fire east of Khan Yunis in the southern Palestinian enclave.

Under agreements mediated by Egypt, Qatar and the United States, Tuesday would see the first day of an additional humanitarian pause that should have begun at 05:00 a.m. UTC.
