Around two weeks ago, German and Lithuanian authorities reached an agreement to station a Bundeswehr brigade in Lithuania. From now until 2027, approximately 4.8 thousand German military personnel and another 200 civilian employees will be deployed in the Rudninkai and Rukle training grounds (located near the borders with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus). The formation of the brigade will commence in the second quarter of 2024.
