Israel attacked over 20,000 targets in Gaza since October 7, reports IDF
The Israel Defense Forces delivered strikes on more than 20,000 targets in the Gaza Strip since its military operation in the enclave began on October 7, IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said.
“Overall, we have attacked over more than 20,000 all over the Gaza Strip since the start of the war,” he told reporters.
Israeli jets attacked the neighborhoods of Yarin and Ayta ash Shab, with their missiles setting fire to several houses, the report said. Israeli artillery opened fire on the settlements of Alma el-Chaab, El-Jibbein, Ramyah and some others, according to the report. White phosphorus shells were used, among others, in the shelling, the news agency said.
On December 5, Shiite fighters attacked 14 border posts of the Israeli army and military barracks in Biranit, Birket Risha and Metula settlements. The Hezbollah Military Information Service said on Telegram that these operations were carried out in response to the killing of a Lebanese soldier in Israeli shelling of the command post in Lebanon.
Al Wataniya reported that the resumption of hostilities on the Lebanese-Israeli border following the end of the humanitarian truce has led to an increase in the number of refugees who are moving from the south of the country to safer areas. According to the agency, the military escalation has paralyzed life in 60 settlements near the border.
