  • The US has made progress in discussions with Iran and Oman on allowing more ships through the Strait of Hormuz but has not reached a final agreement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Tuesday. “We’re hoping that will happen very shortly.”
  • Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Tuesday that he would not resign and pledged to remain in office, according to a preview of an interview scheduled to air on state TV.
  • Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to visit Islamabad, Al-Arabiya reported on Monday citing an unnamed senior source, after Pakistan’s foreign ministry said it had invited Araghchi to visit the country as soon as possible.
  • US President Donald Trump said Monday that talks with Iran would proceed in two phases and described the negotiations as Tehran’s “last chance” to sign an agreement.
  • The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) says a cargo vessel has reported being hit by an “unknown projectile” about 20 nautical miles northeast of Al Khasab, Oman.
