Covid-19: Italy to become first European country to produce Russian vaccine, Spain Germany and France to follow

Russia has reached an agreement with Italy to produce its vaccine, Sputnik V, making it the first European country to manufacture the Russian vaccine.  Russia’s sovereign wealth fund RDIF has signed a contract with Swiss pharmaceutical company Adienne Pharma & Biotech based in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has not yet given its approval for the production of Sputnik V, and this announcement is further evidence that some pharmaceutical companies are not willing to wait any longer to start production of this immunogen.
