Afghanistan – ‘Hostage’ Crisis Reported: Around 1000 U.S. Citizens, Others Wait for Evacuation Flights

The Taliban are preventing around 1000 people including dozens of American citizens and Afghans holding visas to the U.S. or other countries, from leaving Afghanistan. Multiple planes are waiting for clearance for the departure from the group, The New York Times (NYT) reported and added that the holdup is caused due to ongoing negotiations between the U.S. and Taliban. Biden’s abrupt U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan has led to a dangerous new situation: A hostage crisis. “CBS has learned multiple flights are being held on the ground at the Mazar-i-Sharif airport in Northern Afghanistan… by the Taliban,” Eena Ruffini reported….
