Russia and India have signed a mass of trade and arms deals on the margins of a summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. During Putin’s visit to New Delhi for the 21st India-Russia Summit, the two sides concluded 28 trade and arms pacts including one for manufacturing more than 600,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles and another on responding to cyber attacks on banks. Putin’s travel to New Delhi, along with Russia’s defense and foreign ministers, also saw the extension of Moscow and New Delhi’s military-technical cooperation pact by another 10 years.
